Norovirus, a highly contagious virus affecting all age groups, manifests through symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea. Typically, symptoms emerge 12 to 48 hours after exposure, with individuals generally experiencing improvement within one to three days.
The virus easily spreads through direct contact with an infected person, consumption of contaminated food or liquids, and touching surfaces or objects carrying the virus before touching the mouth, as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Preventative measures against norovirus include thorough and frequent handwashing with soap and water.
