Breaking News! Astarion & FF16 Ben Starr Join Warframe – Unveiling Whispers in the Walls Cast!

Reflecting on TennoCon 2023, FF16 an event that now feels like a distant memory, I recall a unique connection with Warframe’s creative director, Rebecca Ford. Our shared enthusiasm for Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3, and the subsequent disappointment we experienced, brought us together. Imagine my surprise when browsing her Twitter, I stumbled upon images featuring Ford and Neil Newbon, the voice actor behind Astarion.

The announcement revealed that Astarion, everyone’s beloved vampire, would be joining forces with Final Fantasy 16’s Ben Starr as part of the cast for Warframe’s upcoming expansion, Whispers in the Walls.

To say my jaw dropped would be an understatement. Ahead of The Game Awards, it was unveiled that Neil Newbon from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Ben Starr from Final Fantasy 16 would be part of Whispers in the Walls. Although details about their roles in the mysterious underground laboratory complex of Entrati were scarce, a press release from Digital Extremes confirmed the characters they would be portraying in the ninja-themed game.

Neil Newbon, stepping out of his vampiric persona, assumes the role of Fibonacci, the leader of the enigmatic ‘Cavia’ Syndicate. It’s anticipated that Fibonacci will play a pivotal role in the unfolding narrative of Whispers in the Walls. While specific details are scant, a tweet from Newbon features a sizable, somewhat disgruntled-looking fish (the same one in the header for this article), which I speculate might represent Fibonacci.

On the other hand, Ben Starr trades one sword for another as he takes on the role of Arthur in Warframe 1999, an upcoming update by Digital Extremes described as “Metal Gear Solid meets Dark Sector.”

According to DE FF16 CEO Steve Sinclair’s comments in a recent interview, Arthur is a “handsome hunk” eagerly awaited by many, and the fact that he is voiced by FFXVI’s Clive adds an extra layer of excitement.

Contrasting with Rebecca Ford’s previous criticisms of Astarion, I believe these casting choices are impeccable. The Warframe universe often exudes opulence, and Neil Newbon’s acting style perfectly aligns with that aesthetic. FF16 On the other hand, the grittiness of FF16, akin to Warframe 1999, is complemented by Ben Starr’s performance.

Further revelations are expected during The Game Awards, and tuning in on Twitch not only promises insights but also a free Warframe to enhance your collection – and it looks truly spectacular.
