Active military members, veterans, and one accompanying guest are warmly welcomed to witness the spirited performance of Kansas student-athletes in the playoff football games without any cost.

Bill Faflick, speaking on behalf of the association, expressed, “This is a small gesture of our gratitude and a means to acknowledge the contributions of those within our communities during one of our most significant community events – the playoff football games. Our aim is to pay homage to those currently serving and those who have served, recognizing that we can never fully repay the selflessness demonstrated by those who safeguard our nation and uphold our freedom.”

The Sectional football matches may occur either on Thursday or Friday, depending on the availability of the facilities. Host schools may also find their own ways to honor veterans and active military personnel during the game day festivities.

For free admission, any active military member or veteran and their chosen guest need only present their driver’s license, which should bear a seal indicating their veteran status and service. If the license has not been renewed in the past few years, a veteran ID card or any other form of valid identification will suffice as proof of eligibility.
