The 23 Starlink satellites were set to be released from the Falcon 9’s upper stage into low Earth orbit (LEO) approximately 65.5 minutes after liftoff. The Starlink megaconstellation, designed to provide internet services globally, currently comprises over 5,000 operational satellites, according to astrophysicist and satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell.

The expansion of the Starlink network is ongoing, with Space already holding approval to deploy 12,000 Starlink satellites into LEO. Additionally, the company has sought approval for an additional 30,000 satellites, indicating plans for further growth in the future.
