“Katharine McPhee & David Foster’s Christmas Extravaganza! Inside Their Festive Wonderland, New Album, and Exclusive Holiday Plans Revealed!”
It’s the most enchanting season of the year for Katharine McPhee and David Foster.”I never pass up a chance to celebrate the holidays,” says McPhee, 39, who, for the past two years, has fully embraced the Christmas spirit alongside her 74-year-old hitmaker husband and collaborator, Foster.
The couple, proud parents of 2½-year-old son Rennie, recently unveiled their revamped album, Christmas Songs.

“It’s been a bit challenging to escape the holiday vibe,” Foster chuckles. “Last year, we recorded seven songs, and this year, we added seven more. We were knee-deep in Christmas Songs during both summer seasons. The holiday spirit has been a constant for us in the last two years.”
Despite their festive enthusiasm, Katharine McPhee and Foster confess that decorating has taken a backseat this year.
“We were just settling into our newly built house,” explains McPhee. “Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to move in due to occupancy issues and awaiting the final city certificate.”
Luckily, she shares, “I just received an email confirming approval, so I’m thrilled. Now I can retrieve the boxes from storage and unleash the Christmas madness. I go all out with music and decorations.”
As they gear up to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and make appearances on various Christmas specials, the couple finds collaborating on holiday music to be a delightful experience.
“I love it because you get a creative free pass,” says Foster, known for producing Christmas hits for artists like MSet featured imageichael Bublé. “When you’re trying to make a hit, there’s so much pressure. With Christmas music, there are no rules. You can be as cheesy as you want.”
Katharine McPhee adds, “David and I first met when I was a contestant on American Idol, and we worked together in the studio. So being in the studio together now is such a pleasure. He’s one of the best vocal producers. I always defer to his expertise.”
Despite spending considerable time apart, with Foster engrossed in producing “Boop!,” the Betty Boop musical in Chicago, the couple eagerly anticipates quality family time this holiday season.
“I’m currently on the East Coast,” says Foster. “So there’s not much time for us to be together. Geography is keeping us apart for now, but come Christmas, we’ll be reunited.”
