France’s equity markets saw a positive close on Friday, driven by gains in sectors such as CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Health Care, and CAC Consumer Services.
At the end of trading in Paris, the CAC 40 rose by 1.27%, while the SBF 120 index advanced 0.78%.

Among the top performers on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS
), which climbed 2.62% to 21.57, Hermes International SCA (EPA
) rose 2.50% to 2,170.00, and Capgemini SE (EPA
) increased by 2.48% to 192.50 by the closing bell.
Conversely, notable decliners included Engie SA (EPA
), which fell 0.81% to 14.05, Carrefour SA (EPA
) slipped 0.28% to 14.23, and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA
) dropped 0.19% to 130.20.
Leading the gains on the broader SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA
), surging 20.31% to 1.07, Virbac SA (EPA
) rising 4.65% to 360.00, and Emeis SA (EPA
) gaining 4.41% to 13.08.
In terms of market breadth, advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones with 291 to 197, while 102 stocks closed unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures volatility expectations, remained steady at 18.96, marking a new 52-week high.
In commodities, France Gold Futures for August delivery edged down 0.15% to $2,418.25 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for August delivery decreased slightly by 0.01% to $82.61 per barrel, and the September Brent oil contract fell 0.08% to $85.33 per barrel.
In forex markets, France EUR/USD was unchanged at 1.09, while EUR/GBP held steady at 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures showed a decline of 0.33%, settling at 103.79.
